The last day of the MPS Championships began again with a short briefing at 10:00 clock. The daily prices for the best sailors in the three races of the day before were awarded. PRO Gert Schmidleitner concluded with a brief statement on rounding leeward gate.
At 12:00 clock the fleet sailed out in glorious sunshine and wind with 2-3 Bft. of NO (= wind rose) to the starting area. The last two races of the series were completed, with the European champions of 2011 Dylann Hector Tidd (SLO), as the winner crossed the finish line twice.
After a long break due to a protest the price giving ceremony started at 17:30 clock with the day award ceremony for the two races of today.
After various speeches and honors (see photo gallery) the ceremony ended with the presentation of the perpetual price of MPSCA to the new European Champion Frithjof Schwerdt (GER 272)!
The Union Yacht Club Attersee (UYCAs) has to say big thanks to all sailors, volunteers, sponsors and supporters, the international jury and the MPSCA for the excellent cooperation - it was a successful week with races at the highest level - we wish all participants a fine and accident-free journey back home and look forward to seeing you again in 2014!
